I was wandering through Zaylac in Northern Somalia early one morning just before breakfast and saw this little girl. Unlike most children who run away from the camera, she loved being in the spotlight. It can be a hassle carrying around a heavy camera when you are traveling but having the chance to capture moments like this makes it all worth it.

Sunrise silhouette in Palawan. We slept in a tent on a beautiful white beach on a deserted island somewhere between Coron and El Nido and woke up to this beautiful sunrise. It was part of the Tao Expedition a 5 day boat cruise across Palawan, one of the coolest travel experiences i have ever had.

Portraits are quite tough to create in Somalia as people don't really know what to make of a strange white guy pointing a camera at them. But were so many beautiful faces there and i wanted to share a different side of Somalia that most people don't get to see.

Mountain top silhouette from the edge of pacaya volcano. A group of tourists making there way down the mountain at the end of the day. It was such an amazing place that I didn't want to leave. When we eventually left we had to hike through the forest to the base of the mountain in the dark.

Travelling in an armed presidential convoy in central Somalia. When traveling in Somalia outside of the major cities it is mandatory to have 2 armed guards with you at all times. On this particular trip we had about 19 guards with us as part of our convoy, fully equipped with AK 47's and a 50mm truck mounted machine gun (a vehicle called a "technical" in Puntland).
